Tips to Get Rid of Fruit Flies

They can be very pestering. Once they flying in your house they halt and it’s so hard to get rid of  Fruit Flies. The best way to deal with them it is through prevention, prevent them from infiltrating your home by disposing all fruits and vegetables before they become over ripe or get spoiled.

Tips in getting rid of fruit flies

  • Put all your soda and beer cans in plastic bag, seal it and dispose of it.
  • Use Fly traps. Hang fly strips with strips exposed on both sides. Fruit flies are attracted to it and will stick.
  • Make a fruit fly trap. Put a small amount of red wine in a bowl and cover it with a plastic wrap. Make sure to seal the edge of the bowl. Punch small holes which are large enough for fruit flies to get in but not big enough for to get back out. Once the crawl in they should not be able to escape.
  • Fruit Flies love light. Bug Zappers can do the trick. Turn off all lights in the room and turn on the bug zapper.

Of course nothing can beat cleanliness. The number one fruit fly advice given by experts is to control fruit flies through eliminating their breeding place. To achieve that, you have to keep your house clean and dry. Clean every area of the house.

Clean all rags and dish rags. Don’t leave any wet rags hanging around because this attracts fruit flies. Always keep clean and dry the rags before hanging them in the kitchen. Also make sure your windows and doors are screened to prevent fruit flies getting inside the house.
